The prequel of Game of Thrones had some big shoes to fill. The show is set 200 years before the setting of Game of Thrones and is based on the writings by George R. R. Martin. The show was released on 21 August this year. The show has a budget of $20 million per episode.

2. Obi Wan Kenobi

Coming at number 2 is Disney+ original ‘Obi Wan Kenobi’. Based on the spin off from the ultra popular Star Wars franchise, the season depicts the story of the Jedi and his relationship with Anakin. The show has impressive CGI as well as a good cast. Each episode had a budget of $25 million.

1. Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

Topping the list is the show based on the universe created by J. R.R. Tolkien. The shows budget is double the amount of is next contender and is easily the most expensive TV show ever created. Each episode is estimated to have a massive budget of $58 million bringing the total cost of the first season to a whopping $715 million. Most of the budget is attibuted to the copyright settlement between Warner Brothers and the estate of J.R.R Tolkien. Despite the enormous budget, the show has received mixed reviews.
