Why You Should Have a Good Face Wash

Do you wash your face with soap? Do you wash your body with soap as well?

It’s the 21st century and we need to be more aware of what to put on our bodies and what to put on our faces. There is supposed to be a difference. Not trying to shame anyone who uses soap on their faces, but did you know, that the skin on your face is much more sensitive and lighter as compared to the rest of your body?

There are three major things that are different in facial skin than body skin.

The skin on our bodies protects us from the outside world. It acts as a barrier against the pollutants and harmful bacteria which is all around us. The skin on the face however is most exposed to the environment and thus needs special care.

Skin Thickness – Facial skin is thinner

Skin turnover rate – Facial skin renews itself more frequently than the rest of the body

Dryness – Facial skin has more oil-producing sebaceous glands so tends to become more oily

So to be using the same soap, which you put over your face and your body doesn’t make sense. You need to have more curated items which are specially made for the skin cells. The most basic thing is a good face wash.

There are different face washes for different skin types, and you need to know what your skin type is. But that topic is for another time. For now, you need to get on board with the idea that your face needs a face wash.

Another thing; either don’t dry your face and let it dry itself after a wash, or even if you do dry your face, try and be gentle. No need to rub the towel like you’re trying to scrape off stuff from a frying pan.

Be gentle and light dabs would do the same good job.
